Comedic Tenor, Comic Vehicle
|
Welcome to Comedic Tenor, Comic Vehicle (CTCV), a book-length study of how Humor of the Mind enhances meaning and enjoyment of some of America’s favorite film comedies. CTCV provides a formal definition of comedy, distinguishing it from other literary forms and demonstrates humor’s relationship to a wide variety of America's film comedies. The principles of humor texture for comedic works here employed come both from empirical studies and from classic literary criticism texts, notably the work of George Meredith, Henri Bergson, Suzanne Langer, and Harold H. Watts.
